Legends of Etherell is the introduction of a completely unique iteration of the popular MMORPG genre. The team behind Legends of Etherell has created what they have labeled a “True Online Role-Playing Game” or TORPG for short. In Legends of Etherell, all elements play out as they would in a traditional “RPG”, with no deviation aside from the fact that they game can’t conclude as with standard “RPG” titles. We look to present something fresh and realistic compared to the repetition found in the current selection of “MMORPGS” available.

Rather than focusing on the vast amount of characters that can be forced into a zone or region, we are primarily focused on creating the persistent world with a strong focus on the incorporation of traditional “RPG” elements such as improved NPC interaction, fully voiced dialogue and choice tracking, alternate dialogue choices with varying results depending on class/race/profession, and really deep player progression and advancement. Our goal is to create a fully opened, sophisticated, and living world; one in which the player can exist without bounds, and become fully involved with. While the game is expected to have a large following, the current focus isn’t primarily on the massive amount of players we can fit into a given area, instead we are centralized on building the most elaborate rendition of a persistent, open-world RPG we can.

To accommodate our style of development it’s most important to develop the game with scalability at its core. Therefore, we’ve chosen to develop our online framework based on [Update: Smartfox], an extremely sophisticated, scalable multi-player server solution that allows us to expand the amount of players allowed within the confines our our virtual world as the demands are required; the game currently makes use of the free solution, but will be expanding shortly. We've also partner with Janson Konstantin to utilize his "Advanced Multi-player Kit" (any one building and mmo or server-based online product should definitely consider it. It has provided us a nice palette since our move from Torque3D to Unity3D; saving us much development resources.)

Wow, start tracking!

You are looking for ideas? I have a lot of them =)
Mounts: I'd love to see the multi-funtional mounts in game!
Firstly - Conception:
Mount not only mounts =) Its are honored team-mates, so my ideas are very simple:
Taming - get all animals or something else you like.
Growing up with your pet - yes, after the tame it become a combat pet.
At some level or skill or something it grow up and change its appearance) to the mount (if you sit on it) or more stronger combat pet.

What kind of pets id like to see in the game:
Horses, unicorns, tigers, lions, wolfs, dogs ( Siberian husky <3 f.e.)
spiders, foxes.

All pets need to be armored.
If you'd like me to continue, i will, so ask me.

Sorry for my English it is not good enough =((

Been tracking a while, and realized I haven't expressed my support yet. This idea sounds simply fantastic. In the concept description, I was instantly plugged into LoE: Antavia. I can't wait to play something fresh, especially something with such passion coursing through it. Good luck.

Thanks Oden ("Allfather"), for your support. We are very excited to be opening doors to the open pre-alpha real soon. Right now, more than anything, we want the involving combat and AI to feel just right before we open things up to the players. We have to make sure our first presentation is the best it could ever be, and that's exactly what we are doing.

The combat is all real-time, much that that found in Tera Online. However, our team is dedicated to making combat real-time and visceral, with lots of strategy. So, we've included counter moves like block, parry, and evade. Some character devotions (classes) have the ability to even use moves to disarmed an attacking player. It will be like no other MMORPG ever released.

Thanks for the compliment ElfFriend. Yes, you will feel right at home in Legends of Etherell, if you enjoy the combat mechanics of Skyrim. We're working really hard to accomplish a tactical combat experience, while providing a fast-paced alternative to the current turn-based MMORPG standard.
