Growbot is a 2D point-and-click adventure game in which you play as Nara, a student growbot on her first day of training on board a space station. Before you can begin learning about your new home's ecosystem of alien flowers and strange creatures, an attack by an unknown force infests the station with large and quickly growing crystals. With communication cut off, you venture out of your room in search of help. Along the way you must make new friends, fix the station's strange machinery, and discover the origins of the crystalline force spreading throughout the station. Growbot is being developed in Unity for PC and Mac.
Last time, I shared some GIFs of the in-progress trailer. Now the trailer is complete! And I'm super excited to announce that it's available to watch on Growbot's brand new Steam store page, where you can also now add the game to your Steam Wishlist.
The trailer shows all the progress that's been made over the past year, including lots of new rooms and one of the tracks from the Growbot soundtrack by Jessica Fichot. It's still just a teaser - I wanted to keep it to around a minute in length, but it packs a lot in there. It was fun working on it and trying to get better at video editing in the process. You can also watch the results on YouTube, which I've embedded below:
New Growbot gifs from floor 1 and 2 showing both gameplay and cutscenes
We've made a number of new gameplay videos to showcase the music from floor 2. The background music for this floor is composed of multiple music layers...
Growbot now has a musician! We've been busy creating and implementing music into the game. You can hear some samples for the first floor here.
Growbot is an IndieCade 2016 Digital Select and now also on Steam Greenlight.
