Hello, Corporates!
Update 1.2.0 for Grimstar: Prequel is now available. We are very grateful for all your feedback on Steam and Discord, which made this update possible. Here are some of the major changes:
Enemy waves are replaced by AI enemies
Waves of enemies has been replaced with an AI Enemy who also needs to build a base to create new monsters. Currently there are 3 different groups in the game:
- Tristar - the corporate faction that players represent.
- Red Head Army - deranged Space Pirates that would attack any kind of colony or space ship in order to loot and pillage supplies.
- Native fauna - Monsters that will attack and kill any invaders on their planet.
Cutscenes are now replaced by in-game mission briefings
As planned, all ineffective cutscenes have been replaced. Additionally, the speaker has been changed and a small explanation text has been added at the beginning of the game explaining story details.
Overall visual and map design has been changed
The graphics and design of the maps have also been changed, for example the ugly stone walls have been replaced. The game play of the maps was also improved, for example, there are now two maps where you can fight against the Red Head Army.
Base-building system improved
Grid-based building systems make it easier to create good bases without blocking the ways for your own units.
