You should add a shotgun. To stay with the World War 2 theme of weapons, I suggest a M97 Trench Gun.

Actually, not really. To stay in the soviet touch you would need the OA type of shotguns made by TOZ or the regular BM16.

I'm gonna guess you didn't notice that a lot of the guns up their are not just Soviet, but also German and a few American. Plus the TOZ shotguns that you are talking about are made by a company called Tula, and are much newer than WW2. And the "BM16" is a fake name given to the sawn-off shotgun in the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. series, which is a TOZ-66.

This is just the first portion of guns, it will be more sniper rifles, double-barraled shotguns. M97 was in my mind and it still is))

And, as a game designer, I'd like to communicate the soviet "touch" not only trough weapons and some well known cliche like kalashnikov, red stars and Lenin statues. But rather through architecture and props, which make the atmosphere of a Soviet city. It's harder, but if it's done right you will no need of an AK-47 in your hands to say I'm in USSR/Russia ))

I would love that actually, common eastern bloc types of buildings? In my city, which was in former Yugoslavia, the architecture is similar, so certain neighborhoods really have that special athosphere during gloomy and rainy days.

I noticed that, but I was just suggesting for the shotguns matter. Also, Tula is the city, Tulsky Oruzheiny Zavod aka TOZ is the company that makes it, Tula Arms Plant in English. When I say Soviet, I refer to everything that belongs to the era of Soviet Union's existance up to '91. And I am aware of that, but I keep forgetting the exact name of the double barreled shotgun, so I stick with the name I know, BM16.

Yep, Tula is a city not far from Moscow, I've been there several times)
The game is taking in place at the edge between 60s and 70's, but the incident (the parasite outbreak) had happened about 5-7 years before that. That's why we are using more stuff from 50s and 60s then from much earlier years. However, one of the main characters the Punk was mainly inspired by the soviet punk of 70s ans 80s.

Also it's a bit hard to follow strictly within a certain time frame, when you're trying to play with retrofuturistic stylisation. Particularly hard to do with the soviet style.

Oh? I had no idea the main characters was a punk, this is making me more interested into the game overall. I can imagine early Purgen's stuff playing in my head already.

Will there be a main weapon and side weapon that you can have equipped?

Or will you have an inventory that you could fill with several different weapons? Then equip one?

You will have an inventory, where you can store your weapons, supplies and all other stuff that you found. Each character can equip up to two weapons at a time and switch between them without opening the inventory, by using hotkeys.

Thanks for the question)
