Excalibur breaks the mould of traditional space simulation games by putting the player firmly in the boots of an experienced Starfleet captain. From the outset you will be able to control your character and command your ship as if you were standing on the bridge yourself. From taking direct control of the helm, to transferring command of any ship in your task force, or even calling your senior staff to the briefing room to discuss mission tactics; Excalibur is the most immersive Star Trek experience ever. Set six months after the events in Star Trek: Nemesis, Excalibur's story mode deals with the turbulent political scene caused by a decade of war and turmoil. From the second Borg incursion in First Contact, to the fall of the Dominion and the collapse of the Romulan political system; these events resulted in huge loss of life and changed the Alpha Quadrant forever.
The weapons, shields and explosion effects are placeholder. Firing arcs are undefined.
Although it's just pre-A it's.. spectacular :D
And can I ask you a few of questions?
1) Will there be any visible hull-damage?
2) Can I help you? :D Well, I'm no experienced at all, but I'd like to learn a bit...
Excellent work guys. Authentically done... also love the use of the explosion library, gives it the Hollywood feel. Also, superb use of the photon torpedoes as dynamic lights, really adds to the realism...
Loving it. Well done
Cinema quality visuals, fantastic work! It looks like a lotta fun. But will there be any visible hull damage?
That looks like every fight from every movie and tv episode.....well done. You captured the look and feel of a Star Trek battle perfectly.
Very nice, although I think it'd give more of a cinematic effect and be more visually pleasing if torpedoes only 'exploded' if they made contact with the hull, instead having perhaps a flash of light and the shield bubble when they hit shields?
Additionally, this would make the torps feel 'weaker' if they only hit shields, and this is mostly in keeping with ST lore, as torps are usually considered devastating if they hit the hull (more effective than phasers) but less effective if they hit shields (less effective than phasers). In short, phasers for shields, torps for hull.
I DO REALISE that in the description, it was stated that 'the weapons, shields and explosion effects are placeholder'.
