Eggs in Space is a fun and colourful blast. It's up to the player to save the innocents of the planet Spoonville by cracking the evil eggs. The aim of the game is to tap the eggs while avoiding hitting the booby-trapped red eggs in a bid to halt the invading armada.
Eggs in Space is easy to pick up and play, but impossible to put down, the tap 'n' crack play is intuitive and challenging in equal measure. The non-stop action becomes more frantic as each new enemy is unlocked. The eggs look distinctive and each one has its own unique traits that keep the gameplay moving.
Playing Eggs in Space is like watching Easter eggs getting hurled at you in zero-gravity through a kaleidoscope. If Hannah-Barbara made a version of Space Invaders, this would be it.
The soundtrack is a superb take on B movie sci-fi music, it's laden with eerie synths and theremins that float above the modern, slow-burning house-tinged beats and wobbly bass-lines. This is one app that you should plug in your headphones for.
Over the next six weeks there will be a weekly free ringtone from the Eggs in Space soundtrack available to download on www.eggsinspacegame.com, so head there now to get yours. Hi guys, Eggs in Space is all about zapping those darn eggs! They move towards you at differing speeds and you have to tap all the brightly coloured ones while avoiding tapping the red eggs. If you let the target eggs get past your ship you lose a life. You also get punished for hitting the red eggs, so you have to be careful which eggs you are zapping out there in space!
Think of the gameplay of Fruit Ninja, but instead of 2D targets going up and down the screen, the eggs are looming towards your ship from the background, moving at differing speeds and getting in the way of each other. It's tricky to pick out the right ones, it really does test the old reflexes!
Zapping the eggs in a certain order will unlock bonuses, you can see the order of the colours you need to hit at the top of the screen. Tapping the red eggs means you either lose a life or if you are lucky you will only be sent shaking and spinning through space. There are also boss eggs that require multiple taps to defeat, they all look wonderful such as our big bad boss gangster egg up there.
In terms of how the game progresses our initial idea was one continuous game, but now we are toying with breaking it up into waves of eggs. Most of the game is complete, we just need to make a few decisions on the flow of the gameplay and structuring the whole thing and we need to incorporate Open Feint in there too. We'll get some video up soon so you can see a little more.
what about color blind people like my friend, he cant see red, green, blue "high" ranges. Do you have plans to help this, like maybe a symbol on the good eggs, and a different symbol on the bad ones?
Yes, we had thought a little about colour blindness. Simply all the eggs with faces are to be tapped, all those without a face (with a bomb, poison or a swirl logo) are to be avoided. That's why we split it between character eggs and object eggs to avoid confusion. Let's just hope it works!
We're changing a few of the colours anyway - you can probably see in these shots that the pink and red are rather close to each other.
i too would like to know some more info
Looks colorful 'n all .. But what kind of gameplay is this?
