Deus Ex Machina in an exploration into a fan remake and modernisation of the original in Unity, redesigning systems and game mechanics to conform to modern iterations of the franchise and the genre as a whole. Not designed to be an exact remake of the original but instead and evolution of it with the intention being at this early stage to produce a reimagined Liberty Island as a portfolio piece.

Description

I always found it strange that all of the helicopters used in the game took the shape of an attack helicopter. Not only that but Jock was able to make a flight from New York all the way to Hong Kong and back again. Also the lack of displayed and animated landing gear during takeoff after you had been dropped off was puzzling.

HR and MD took on a different take by using aircraft that have thrusters/jets instead of rotors. Which I am very much a fan of due to the ability of the aircraft to rapidly reach areas where the personnel they are transporting are needed most.

I'm also a fan of MD's aircraft due to it having that black helicopters of the government appearance, as well as it streamlined shape. Also it's ability to cloak lends to technology that would allow for the entry that Jock makes into occupied Vandenberg Air Force Base without being detected or shot down.

The iteration in this project should be something similar, modernised to something between MD's and IW's Tarsus Aircraft during the introduction due to it being 2052.

On another note, there should also be different aircraft that the player encounters such as the NSF transport that leaves the helibase and the aircraft being loaded with the virus on the Wall Flower.
