Deus Ex Machina in an exploration into a fan remake and modernisation of the original in Unity, redesigning systems and game mechanics to conform to modern iterations of the franchise and the genre as a whole. Not designed to be an exact remake of the original but instead and evolution of it with the intention being at this early stage to produce a reimagined Liberty Island as a portfolio piece.

Description

All of the robots need an update as their designs haven't aged so well. The Peacebringer looks rather clunky by today's standards and the feet are far too large. The image on the bottom is the coolest concept I have found for inspiration that performs the same function and looks far more intimidating.

The torso also acts as a turret so is able to better attack the player through possessing greater agility. There will also be more ranges of motion and movements. Gone are the days of being able to run up behind one and stay behind it as it turns to try to attack you.

Battlefield 2142's mechs are also a source of inspiration despite their overall bulk.

These robots can generally be taken down with a number of rockets or some shots from later experimental weapons. Certain parts take damage or be crippled individually, but still allowing the robot to function and attack you with the rest of the parts being unaffected.
