Description

There's no real escape from the fact that there are millions of weapons currently in circulation around the globe, and still will be right through 2052 especially through black markets and collectors.

Weapons such as the M1911 and the M2 are still in use today with little changes to the original design over 100 years ago and there are upto 150,000,000 AK's floating around the globe as we speak.

Another thing too is that designs are either improved upon as the need arises, or become less favorable and are replaced by newer designs which offer better performance and functionality. Incremental improvements to current designs and weapon platforms extend the usefulness especially as newer materials and construction techniques become available, and is often more desirable than creating a new design from scratch.

Weapons also do not disappear over night as new designs and weapons enter the market.

To represent this, thugs, some civilians, low ranking NSF grunts and gang members all field a limited selection of older equipment as they are plentiful and therefore cheap and easy to come by, plus it adds a certain level of subtle variety to an otherwise drab selection of weapons from the original.
