Combat-Helo: Operation Ouroboros is a simulation project featuring the U.S. Army's AH-64D Longbow attack helicopter. It was started in the early 2000s by Richard 'Flexman' Hawley as an unofficial sequel to Jane's Longbow 2. However, due to lack of time, interest and resources the project went on hold. As of 2009 the sim is back and rather than simply picking up where he left off, Flexman decided to start again from scratch using an all-new graphics engine and this time with more help and resources available, as well as a renewed interest in the project. The team's aim is to recreate Longbow 2 for today's graphics technology, and plan to implement the latest upgrades of the real-life Longbow.
Note that the game is no longer called 'Longbow Combat-Helo', but 'Combat-Helo: Operation Ouroboros'.
Please note that the person who runs this profile is NOT actually the game developer, but is working on behalf of the team.

I like the fact that people are still dedicated to creating deep simulation games, but I do have to say that I think you should have gone for another helicopter, as the community modded version of Enemy Engaged – Comanche vs. Hokum is pretty much the ultimate Longbow simulation.
But I suppose a great update of that classic game is always welcome!
The thing is though, EECH modded is NOT the 'ultimate' Longbow simulation. It still has some obvious flaws and the Longbow that is being modelled in Combat-Helo is much more realistic with regard to the avionics - and hopefully weapon - capabilities. The flight model is also better from the start, and uses a plug-in that can be updated. Also, the Longbow is really the ONLY chopper people want to fly again and again, so by using the most popular helicopter, the team should have a lot of public interest from day one.
And just to be clear, C-H is not an 'update' to LB2, it's a totally different game made from scratch. It is just being made with LB2 in mind and will hopefully bring back that retro feel of sims like LB2, as well as yeah, technically being a 'spiritual successor'.
Love the idea of the mod, tracking.
It will be nothing like Team Apache. This game aims to have a realistic AH-64D Longbow model with full flight dynamics, accurately portrayed weapons and avionics. The project coder is looking to have a scaleable difficulty system where you can of course have a simplified flight model and stuff like with Longbow/2. But on full realism it will have nothing in common with the ardacey Team Apache!
team apache?
Team Apache? WTF!?

Well of course I know Team Apache, I thought you meant that you thought this was Team Apache!
