Crytek is dedicated to creating exceptionally high-quality video games for the PC and next-generation consoles, powered by their proprietary cutting-edge 3D-game technology CryENGINE®. The engine was awarded “Best Simulation in Real Time” at the Imagina Awards 2010 and ”Most Innovative Technology” at the European Innovative Game’s Awards. It is not only used throughout the video game industry, but also for many serious applications in fields from architecture, training and simulation to learning and development. Some of the developers who use Crytek’s CryENGINE® include NCSoft, Deutsche Telekom, Sohu ChangYou Gaming, XL Games and Norman Foster Design.

In September 1999, Crytek was founded as a virtual company by the three Turkish brothers Avni, Cevat and Faruk Yerli. It has since created the critically acclaimed PC titles Far Cry®, Crysis® (awarded “Best PC Game” of E3 2007 and “Best Technology” at the 2008 Game Developers Choice Awards) and Crysis Warhead® (awarded “Best Graphics Technology” at the IGN Best of 2008 Awards). Crytek launched the third version of CryENGINE® in October 2009, which is the first game development platform for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, MMO, DX9/DX10/ DX11 that also is truly next-gen ready. In March 2011 Crytek released the newest instalment of its multi-award winning FPS Crysis® series, Crysis® 2 – the first Crytek game available on all three major platforms.

Unlikely. It's not all too bad, though. Us PC gamers are still getting high quality games that are better on PC. Crytek could pull a Ubisoft and wait 3 months before releasing a half-assed PC port with terrible controls and RAM requirements up the Wazoo.

Not a big fan of crysis 2, didnt enjoy it much, but still admire the tech behind it =)

I'd still like to see the original idea behind Farcry come to life (Dinosaurs), but with the new tech =P

Yeah, Crysis 2 wasn't all it cracked up to be. However, It presents a great challenge for modders when the SDK comes out this summer
