This week, I have been working on implementing some of the sounds that will be featured in the game. Although it's not yet finished, I wanted to give you a sneak peek of what I've been working on. To record these sounds, I decided to take an unconventional approach. Instead of searching for pre-existing sound effects, I recorded my boyfriend riding his skateboard and used those sounds as a basis for the sound design in the game.

Recording live sounds can add a layer of authenticity and uniqueness to a game that can be hard to achieve with pre-made sound effects. By recording my boyfriend riding his skateboard, I was able to capture the specific sounds of his board rolling, the wheels spinning, and the sound of the wood hitting the pavement among others... I then edited these sounds and made them ready to use within Unity, where I could incorporate them into the game.

Using these sounds in the game will not only provide a more realistic and immersive experience for the player but will also help to create a unique auditory identity for the game. Below is an example of one of the sounds that I recorded and implemented into the game.

Creating an immersive and engaging game requires attention to every detail, and sound design is no exception. By taking an unconventional approach and recording live sounds, I've been able to add a unique layer of authenticity to the game's sound design. As I continue to work on the game, I look forward to be able to improve the sounds even more and explore new ways to create an immersive experience for players and to share my progress with you.
