Looks fantastic!
Great to see another release! Looks awesome. Territories sounds very interesting.
Just a heads up, in the news post the first four paragraphs under "Top new features in this release" are identical.
Very nice feature, subtle, but looks fantastic. Much better than the sudden popping up of buildings that so many rts games have.
I suggest at least giving it a go once it's released, from what I've seen all the gameplay is there, just with a new graphical look (which I too was very sceptical about at first).
O.A.D is looking amazing, I'll have to give the latest alpha a go soon.
Wow this is stunning artwork, if you can pull off this kind of atmosphere in-game...:O
This is looking amazing guys, keep it up!
That thing looks awesome, keep up the good work!
Looks great! Good to know this is still going.
Looks like a really awesome environment, tracking this one!
Awesome work guys! The mount and blade style combat is especially exciting, it's exactly the thing i've wanted in oblivion for a long time.
Any chance of a torrent for the latest release?
Such a shame this wasn't released for pc. There's a very significant market for indie games on the pc platform, and this game looked really interesting. Would have been a perfect steam release.
Looks fantastic!
A perhaps unrelated question, is it possible to have the shadow on that planet change appropriately with the tod? I suppose this would be impossible without an animated skybox (timed perfectly with the tod), or with the use of an actual 3d model (which wouldn't be the most optimised approach for something so massive in the background). Would be awesome though...
I'm assuming dense impassable forest is possible? This is one thing that annoyed me about aoe3, couldn't recreate black forest properly :(
Looking great as usual!
Question: Does/will your engine support different water types, like a slider or something to adjust the water turbulence, as opposed to separate animations. Although this sounds like it would be difficult to implement, especially since you'd want the water units to rock about appropriately. If not, will there be different water types available to use (as separate animations to choose from), so for example, you could have stormy weather, and very turbulent water to reflect that.
Crysis comes to mind with their incredible water effects. (obviously 0.A.D would offer a simpler approach, since it's an rts, not an fps)
On that note, what sort of weather features are planned?
Yeh, i'm really hoping this doesn't loose too much momentum (eg. cryrecon, that mod had an incredible amount of potential), but this mod is looking really great guys, keep up the good work!
Very nice surprise with those promo shots, great to see some progress, it's looking fantastic!
Lenox, i would avoid being influenced by people like shadowhide, who seem to think modders work for THEM and must do it exactly as they wish and when they want it.
Do whatever you enjoy and feel like doing, after all these are your creations, no one else's (other than the engine it is using of course).
On the other hand, the prelude shots look very promising! Are you planning to stick with the style of your current butterfly screens for this prelude?
While i'm not too keen on this whole 3d craze (waiting for it to mature beyond expensive peripherals and its overuse as a marketing gimmick), an nvidia partnership certainly is big news! Congratulations guys.
That is one fantastic looking model, well done!
Very nice! The wait for the final build is getting harder with each update.
Looking awesome as usual, however one thing i noticed was that the texture on the dog house (if that's what that is) seems lower res than the other buildings. More precisely the roof texture seems to be the same as the other buildings, but enlarged, giving the lower res look.
Of course this is when looking at the large picture, and would hardly be noticeable in-game, and i'm being quite petty haha, especially for a wip game, just thought i'd point it out.
Define "kick ***" please. When sorting out these sort of issues, exact specs are needed. Computer performance isn't soley dependent on ram, what's his vid card and cpu? If we can confirm those specs, then and only then can we rule out hardware performance as the culprit.
Since this is just a pre-alpha, i'd say those features simply haven't been implemented into this build.
Now this makes me very happy, oblivion's combat system really let the game down in my opinion.
Good to hear! Hopefully this picks up some pace.
Very nice indeed! Keep up the great work!
