0 A.D. is a free, open-source, cross-platform real-time strategy (RTS) game of ancient warfare. It's a historically-based war/economy game that allows players to relive or rewrite the history of twelve ancient civilizations, from Iberia to Mauryan India, each depicted at their peak of economic growth and military prowess. Developed using Pyrogenesis, a ground-breaking new game engine custom-built to suit this project, 0 A.D. will give players a rich and entertaining real-time gaming experience.
Wikipedia: The Kyrenia ship is the wreck of a 4th century BC Greek merchant ship. It was discovered by Greek-Cypriot diving instructor Andreas Cariolou in November 1965 during a storm. Having lost the exact position Cariolou carried out more than 200 dives until he re-discovered the wreck in 1967 close to Kyrenia in Cyprus. Michael Katzev, a graduate student at the University of Pennsylvania Museum of Archaeology and Anthropology, directed a salvage expedition from 1967-69. Preservation of the ship's timbers continued during the winter of 1970. Katzev later was a co-founder of the Institute of Nautical Archaeology. The find was extensively covered in a documentary by the National Geographic Society. It is the only preserved ship from Greece's Classical Age. The ship was considered to be very well preserved with approximately 75% of it in good condition. It found a new home at the Ancient Shipwreck Museum in Kyrenia Castle, where it remains on exhibit.

Question: Does/will your engine support different water types, like a slider or something to adjust the water turbulence, as opposed to separate animations. Although this sounds like it would be difficult to implement, especially since you'd want the water units to rock about appropriately. If not, will there be different water types available to use (as separate animations to choose from), so for example, you could have stormy weather, and very turbulent water to reflect that.
Crysis comes to mind with their incredible water effects. (obviously 0.A.D would offer a simpler approach, since it's an rts, not an fps)
On that note, what sort of weather features are planned?
There is already a "choppiness" slider in the editor. The boats don't rock yet though.
