I'm a Game Director, an industry vet of 17 years. Most notable titles i've worked on are Silent Hill games including the award winning Shattered Memories. I'm currently working in a small team of 5 guys in a new start-up called Freejam. Our new game is Robocraft which we're trying to develop using a new model called 'Lean Startup'. We're trying to create the product organically with the community and developing features, content, and a business model that is designed to suit the community that is attracted to the product. We call this user collaboration 'Jamming' this the name Freejam.

Robocraft updates itself. Assuming you are running the game via the Robocraft game launcher - which you can download here Robocraftgame.com

The launcher always makes sure that you have the latest version.

We have doubled the servers and can now support 2000 online at the same time. We will be increasing this to 5000 very soon.

Thanks for your comment. We are working hard to put up more powerful servers so that we can support all the users that want to play. We have a lot of new servers up today so you shouldn't have any problems now.

Yes, we will adjust the Tier as these changes come in. We may adjust the Tier boundaries, so it's tougher to get to T10, i.e. so only these bots appear at T10, or we may add extra Tiers.

Let me second what Ric said about your great feedback, I think a lot of it is very valid.

We are concerned ourselves about ensuring that we do not cross the line from Free-to-play to Pay-to-win. We are an honest developer and with the complexity and free-form nature of Robocraft it is a very difficult balancing act.

The introduction of armor has changed the game in a big way. We are keeping a close eye on it and already have plans to ensure that new players cannot just use their wallet to advance to the highest levels too quickly.

One of the main ways we plan to do that is to change the way CPU works so that players have to advance the size of the Robot more slowly and incrementally over time. CPU will be something you upgrade separately for Chassis, Movement, Hardware and Special cube types using TP. The result of this will be that a wallet warrior can buy more powerful cubes, but cannot buy so many of them without first playing the game and battling through the lower Tiers like everyone else. It is the combination of high quantity with high power of cubes that creates the most powerful Robots in game, and the new CPU upgrade system will limit the quantity.

We are also planning on changing the way TP is awarded and how the Tech Tree is represented. These changes are designed to prevent the user unlocking all the cubes in the game overnight so the progress through the tech tree is more steady. This is our way of limiting the rate at which the paying user accelerates themselves to the end game.
