Hoho, i randomly landed on Edain MU forums again and we find this :)

As always, its been my pleasure. I think its important to bring up that everything that the community was able to bring out, just worked so flawlessly thanks to the patience, immensive support and open mind of the ET devs. Its hard to come by and shoot *hey, i have this idea, and it changes everything you worked for so far* and receive nice feedback, an open door to bring up your ideas, in a democratic and constructive environment.

Thats what makes Edain Team special to me. Being able to work aligned with the community, and respecting every comment, every suggestion they had been given on.

So, i'm the one that have to thank you guys :)

Well, 2016 is here, one step closer to the West.

Hehe, very true. Thus the model goes a little wild when posing (clicked), so im tied xD I can make the cloak soften thou, so its a good idea ;)

Lol i agree, but something weird happened. While i made a decent reflex for the polearm, the game dont seem to use them, or it just scale them down, even they being in the same texture file of the shield, wich has been changed accordly. Or maybe Im not exactly sure why its behaving this way, but i guess theres a workaround ;)

I believe it could debut on Edain 4.3, but so far nothing is decided. The textures will pass for one more approval stage on the internal forums before they can be actually used, so many things are up to change yet.

I have to say that i agree with most of the review. But the game itself is pretty moddable, wich gives us the opportunity to make the balance satisfatory and the upgrades becoming a "real" thing.

I wonder why you say that. I mean, its a very specific game-style, with paced rythm, 100% stable, with decent graphics and acceptable animations. And more, considering the budget, its like one the most well-sucedeed independent games i i ever saw.

Taking that, the game is 30% cheaper then the usual studio blockbusters.. Whats in to complain? There's a demo! =D

That's a good point. Im not the right person to answer it, but im pretty sure that the head coder its working on the balance. I can grant ya that the armor values for the structures will be heavly changed, thus, i don't like the idea of getting the hitpoints too high, causing to make them overpowered when facing units.

The main idea is around lowing the ballista / catapults / ents / giants damage values,, making the strucutres last enough for a repair or a huge wave, but still being weak to certain types of units. Armor against pierce (arrows) will be very increased, ( i hate this part, cause i play the elves mostly, and a noldor army can burn even a fortress down XD but we will try to keep the lore.) Still, u must see that the changes must make the game still funny and playable at multiplayer, giving some action to PvP playing rhythm. But im sure we will get there. And i share your worry, the actual balance is terrible, mostly for base defense players^^

Hey =) Thanks for the comments. We planning to release the first version since we have 2 factions completed, the wild itself its on the final touch's. Thus, theres' a lot of tweaks to be coded in the game itself, so, i think we will spend one week or two, at least.

Im not like giving dates cause all depends of life events and team avaliable time to work on, so can be like in one week or one month. And yes, the porters will have the ability to fix the building. We're studying the most loreful way to make the evil units heal now.

The next faction worked on will be the elves, guess i. We have some preliminar work done, and we tend to give total focus to it since the wild is done. keep an eye for it o/

PS: Would like to say, first of all, best mod ever, awsome iniciative.

Just to know...

1. The BETA version wiill count with some spear trow animations when using the spear trow skill? the arrows are a bit annoying. XD
2. AI behavior in a Peltard (player) X Hoplite (AI() its a bit unbalanced. they come the whole way at march stance (tested at Hard, maybe Brutal is wiser), giving Peltards a total unfair advantadge.

3. Peltards command options?
4. Some proper icons for the Greek gods? Age of Mythology UI files can prove itslef a valuable UI resource^^
5. Can we count with some fortress interaction? upgrading or addons?

Well.. its kinda more a wishlist then a review.. But its damn amazing, and its very, very playable.. Great balance even for a Alpha.

4.0 - Tower Guards (archers) should be elite archers (stronger than ranger, and upgradble, if possible!)
4.1 - If Rob's allow, i can start to made new buttons right now.
4.2 - {BUG} In WOTR Preview, u can't pickup yr own place, starting just in Near Harad. (Tol Anfalas is AMAZING!)

Well, is just played with the good factions, but until now, is the better mods i ever seen. (Beats Edain's, believe I)

Please, don't consider the post a critic or reclamation, it's just suggestions and bug reports =)

3.2 - Lórien Fortress (Rob's mod) should have animated building animation! =) (I know is just plastic, but should't been so hard)
3.3 - A total splitted Barracks / Stable should be considerated.
3.4 - Archers range should increase a little bit (2 or 3) inside towers. =)
3.5 - {BUG} I finded some Missing.Tooltip. in Mirkwood Archers =)
3.6 - Leveable up Ents?
3.7 - Lorien is too called Caras- Galadhon.
3.8 - This is a curiosity only! Exist some way to improve's game anti-alias?
3.9 - {BUG} RJ Historical WOTR Mode appears with black shadows (in clouds) on Moria (appear to be a default on Mountain-style maps).

2.3 - [BUG] - Tower Guard (Spearman) don't combine it when using "Shield Wall" formation.
2.4 - [BUG] - Some Rangers appears without level (and are incombinable) at the start of scenarios.
2.5 - [BUG] - In WoTR Mode, Elves starts without building bar. (Using RJ WOTR Preview or Another Map) (Gondor appears to be OK).
2.6 - The limit of experience gained in a "Real Time" round should be revised.
2.7 - Ne No Dhel (or something like that, the wizards from Lorien) should be combinable for a stronger wizard (when combined, they became a new wizard)
2.8 - Ansious to see the Inn system full operational!
2.9 - {BUG} Inn is un-fixable. (If u lost it, u can never rebuild it.)
3.0 - Weird shadows on Erebor maps (black - crashed textures).
3.1 - {BUG} - Some maps have a HUGE low in framerate when using Unit view mode. (GeForce 250GTS / i7-920 / 4Gb)

Hey!

I can say the mod is trully awsome! Rob gets the best of all possible modifications to ROTWK and put it's in one piece.

I like to make some considerations =)

1. In CaH Classes, u should add 10 more points to CAH hero, to balance him as well.
1;1. I'm sure Rob have's a custom skin model for his own hero, (due to any face's applyabe) a good skin will
be good. =)

2 In Skirmish:

If is possible, i can provide u high-res/original illustrations for all butons (since i'm a illustrator -> luh-yart.deviantart.com)
Rob put very high illus on some buttons, but on Gondor Tower Guard / All Elves Barracks Units / He slip off. I will be happy
to help! - I noticed some WIP icons, and i can help it too. I don't how, but let me know!

2.1 - Gondor Tower Guard (With bow/sword, i say) should have a greater attack, considering level 3 and upgrades needable.

2.2 - Please, continue with the combinations! They really greats the value of strategic gaming! If u can make it for all units,
will be awsome!
