Yeah still no animations properly in at the moment! We've both got our hands full with so much work. When we first started Blackwake we had Man o' wars but that got very boring for the players quickly. Also a lot of people wouldn't listen to the captain. Eventually though we will be going for something around frigate size or double deck if the design (which is most important) is fun for gameplay.

Thankyou for the kind words it means a lot! We are still actively working on it. We haven't really posted many updates here but we do post over on our facebook when we have a change to update the game.
Another Kickstarter is something we are thinking about and we leanred a lot from our previous campaign.

Looking awesome guys! I'm curious what that gold light bug is. Does it occur when a certain map type is turned on? If so I think it could possibly be single pixels that have a certain RGB value. It may cause the PBS to believe there is some sort of metal with extreme reflectivity causing it to blow up the bloom.
Oculus will be amazing! I'm excited you are interested in it. It will give the immersion a huge increase.

It's definitely in there still! You can see some of the holes there on the hulls. Some people used Grapeshots(cannister shots) which pierce the hull for shotgun type damage, which doesn't destroy the hull into pieces.

Oh visuals are not a problem with Unity. We can achieve some incredible stuff with user made/3rd party plugins :)

CryEngine has even worse limitations. Most of these are lack of user documentation or information. Some of our friends had been working on a game for over a year using CryEngine, ran into huge unfixable bugs and switched over to Unity. CryEngine is a decent engine, but it requires a whole team of programmers if you want to achieve anything good.
We have worked on Unity for over a year now, so we will be sticking to it as it is way more user friendly :) We did fix the bugs.
We do this all the time ha! It's going to be awesome once we add proper characters, animations and melee in.
Well if things go to plan, sometime Q2 in 2015!
