Hey all, here is some updated news on The Surfer®. On the PC side, we’ve just release our updated PC build v1.09. The software is getting tighter and although there is plenty more to do, we’re getting closer to where we want to be. Give it a spin and tell us what you think. The PS3 building is coming along and we’re building more content in general. We’re in the alpha stages of our beach-break level, the tow in level basics are place, we’ve got a cool big left hand wave level planned as well and our native split screen game mode is up and running. We’ve also begun work on the character and equipment creation side, which is exciting for us here. We’ve also received developer approval for the WiiU from Nintendo, so if we’re lucky we’ll be looking to move to the WiiU at some point as well.

Extreme sports games are really hard to find nowadays, and must of them aren't worth the price. However, this one is, it's a nice throwback to games we haven't seen much of in the past few years.
It's a brilliant time, and anyone who's into the extreme sport genre should dig this game.

Hi Just installed the surfer, I do not use a controller, just keyboard. At start up it asks to press X button. How do I change it to keyboard control.
Frank
Hi Frank,
This has happened before. Have a check to make sure that there are no remnants of any other apps that have previously used a controller on your machine. The game will always start with default keyboard settings - always. But sometimes if it detects that a previous controller has been used or is still installed on your PC, then it will display the controller settings and expect a game pad/controller. Hope this helps.

I tried messing around with the controller config.
Camera would be nice on the right stick only
Maybe pump timing with one of the triggers.
For gameplay speed should be built up from the wave size, position (Peak / Shoulder) & direction on the wave face (Up / Down)
Lots of potential for this sports simulation to be No.1 in its field.
Hi Notmetoo,
Appreciate the feedback. Yes, the controller config is setup up currently only for the keyboard and the mapping is for a PS3 controller - currently. We're doing our best to cater for other control config. We understand that we've still got a lot of work ahead. We will take your advice.

Really excited to see this project in its final release, things have come a long way since the surfing event in California Games.
Installed on my Windows 7 x64, it appears the game was setup for PlayStation. I was really confused with the button configuration using my Xbox 360 controller, 'X' was 'B', couldn't figure out if L1 button was actually working. Lots of potential for this sports simulation to be No.1 in its field.
Thank you. We're doing our best and this is a bit of a monster challenge for a small team. We're surfers ourselves and you can appreciate that there are a lot of moving parts to building this. Genuine thanks for the suggestions and we will take this feedback on board - pardon the pun!
