The Protectors of Etheria is a stand-alone mod of the game Warlords Battlecry 3 (i.e. it can be run without having the original game installed - 100% free full game). It is an improved RTS/RPG game with new campaigns, quests, terrain, units, items, heroes, modding features and more. Beta versions available for download!
As said before, the races in 0.9 have been reworked and made to play differently from each other.
The Ssrathi, for example, have a "Faith" resource which can be spent on 1 of 2 powers which enhances the race's offensive capabilities or resource income.
Faith is acquired by worshipping their Sun God - Couatl. This is achieved by sacrificing your own units at the new Altar of Couatl building or by having Snakepriests garrison said building which generates Faith over time while they remain in there.
Some Ssrathi unit: But maybe you don't have to sacrifice me specifically?
Ssrathi priest: I find your lack of faith disturbing.
