Just in time for the awards (although that turned out to be a coincidence), we have a new campaign for you to download. Exactly, CONTENT!!! "The Relic" is a 4 mission campaign made by HLP User Slasher and does not only feature innovative mission design but is already fully voice-acted! I love our community :-)
What are you waiting for?
You can get it in our forum or right here, so download it NOW!
(and the Zathras package too, if you have not already. Check the previous news for info about that, since it is required for this campaign.)
Have fun and don't forget to leave some feedback in the forum, as well as voting for TBP.
Let's take a quick look back: 09 has been good for TBP, let's hope 2010 will be another great time for our favorite game. The next big project for the team is still DVD 2.0, since the old release is somewhat outdated by now. No release date yet, we will keep you informed as usual. And who knows what else awaits us?
Anyway...
Wishing you all a Happy New Year!
Or as the German say (translated), "I wish you a Happy Slide."
Interpret that any way you want to :-)

4 mission mini-campaign for The Babylon Project total conversion of FreeSpace 2.

To play this TBP relic mod. I understand how to install the zathras patch to run it as a mod, but I do not understand about how to run with FS2_Open 3.6.12. and where to put those files. As these are required also.
Figured it out if anyone gets stuck like me maybe this help;
Run CPU-z (freeware) to check Intructions SEE 1,2,3. ( relates to FS2 open builds you will need to download)
Goto Misc Folder and extract launcher55g into;
C:\Program Files\The Babylon Project
Overwright old launcher
Extract FS2 open builds into;
C:\Program Files\The Babylon Project
(activate from new launcher select correct EXE)
Extract Zathras into;
C:\Program Files\The Babylon Project
(activate mod from new launcher)
Extract New Mods such as Relic into;
C:\Program Files\The Babylon Project
Is there a way to play it on OSX as it says it cross platforms and im having trouble finding a way to install it
There is but unfortunately I'm not exactly sure how myself. The installer is windows only. Someone did a linux distro as well but as far as OSX the only solution I know is to install to a windows machine, copy over, and download or compile the OSX builds of FS2_Open.
Any more updates?
Since most of the development is now done by the public it's hard to post updates. There are some models and campaigns being worked on along with the standard bug fixing. Best thing to do is follow on the HLP forum.
The site Gamesource.it will soon have its own section devoted to TBP. Stay tuned! :-)

Here's the guide to install Zathras, in two languages (English and Italian).
Pardon, that links to the GS forums. To view the guide directly, click here:

We will probably never do that. That doesn't prevent other people from making mods where you can. The FS2_Open engine was never really designed for that. There have been some people working on flyable caps for FS2 so it may be possible at some point. Probably require a lot of work and wouldn't be much fun though.
