My dear minions, and future dear minions,

For once I'm doing something very strange: I hereby announce that Tales of Maj'Eyal 1.3.0 shall be released on the 18th of March!
Yes a release date. From me. Amazing ;)

This release will bring you a huge ton of stuff that would be too long to list here, but a few highlights are the addition of the Ogre race and the total revamp of both chronomancer classes!

Ok ok, you can have a trailer, I will allow it ;)

Now all that is left to do is wait patiently the 18th. Also, take that chance to finish your current characters in some horrible painful deaths ;)

This is to me an arch-Indie. When I first tried it, it wasn't Maj'Eyal but another M.E, you can maybe guess which :) He changed that for copyright reasons, as well as wanting to take the story his own ways I suppose.

This is Darkgod's magnum opus. He has stuck to it for at least 15 years, rewritten it from scratch four times, always expanding, always improving. It's incorporated new ideas all the time, drawing inspiration from everything from DCSS to World of Warcraft. Like Dwarf Fortress, it's a game that simply has to be admired.

This is a beautiful game with good graphics. I love being able to unlock many different abilities, races, and classes by playing through. The addons are also fun to play with adding new content, races, classes, items, and/or quests. I've been playing for over a year, haven't won, but it's still full of things I haven't seen before. There's even holiday events which adds a little more to every character. If you're new to rogue-likes or you've been crawling in the dungeons long enough you have mushrooms growing on your head, this game is for you.

My first encounter with ToME 4 happened around 2-3 years ago, when I stumbled upon its homepage when browsing for some free RPGs. The game stood out of the army of your typical roguelikes even then, and by now it made an even huger leap forward. First of all, ToME features great graphics and very easy-to-use interface - which might be something that most people take for granted, but keep in mind that most roguelikes have horribad UIs that never get improved. Second, ToME has a vast array of achievements…
