Space Engineers is a sandbox game about engineering, construction, exploration and survival in space and on planets. Players build space ships, space stations, planetary outposts of various sizes and uses (civil and military), pilot ships and travel through space to explore planets and gather resources to survive. Featuring both creative and survival modes, there is no limit to what can be built, utilized and explored.

Space Engineers features a realistic, volumetric-based physics engine: everything in the game can be assembled, disassembled, damaged and destroyed. The game can be played either in single or multiplayer modes.

Space Engineers has sold over 1.6 million copies since launch.

This week’s update is all about more bug fixes and improvements, plus our new stable + development branch system.We've made some fixes to meteorites, so should no longer spawn from inside planets and destroy your bases from below. We will continue to improve and balance them more in the future. Other bugs fixed this week include landing gears unlocking when merging a platform with a large ship, ore detectors missing a range slider, and weapons shooting even when disabled.

There have also been more tweaks and fixes made to particles, and multiple crashes resolved.

Finally, this week we're releasing a new stable (and default) branch on Steam. No action is required from players to access this stable branch. If you would like to opt-in to the non-default development branch, you can do so manually via the BETA tab in Steam (see instructions below). The development branch will be updated weekly, while the stable branch will updated about once a month and should provide a more comfortable gameplay experience.

Developer's note: If you publish a mod, blueprint or world from the development branch, it will be tagged as “development” on the Steam Workshop. If you use these creations on the stable branch, you will get a warning message with a list of mods that may not function correctly.

Hey guys I love this game. I need some help with OBJ export for ships, posted a comment in steam but no one can help. Not sure if I'm making the ships correctly for export. Is there a forum I could use?

This is an absolutely amazing game--hands down. Each time I play, some new little thing happens that keeps me enthralled, even if it's just sitting in a pilot's chair and taking in a spectacular view, or feeling proud that I got some ship I figured out how to build to fly. Wonderful work, KEEN. I hope you keep it going!

I love this game... and I'm only into it for 1257 hours! It's so addictively challenging and you can learn so much from the tech in this game. Definately the next step for minecraft lovers.

Space Engineers is game in Alpha state, but offers more hours of entertainment than many released games. It's space sandbox where you can build, fly and crash ships. Building is very intuitive and feature various blocks, including reactors, cockpits, gyro, thrusts, turrets, armors, interiors and many other blocks. In latest update motor block has been added which allows many new designs. Flying performance depends on design, especially reactor, thrusts and gyro placement. Crashes looks awesome…
