Almost exactly 6 months since the last update, Alpha 8 brings lots of new stuff most notably in the UI department.

- Added help screens (press F1 anywhere)
- The gameplay screen now has a new GUI
- Replaced the fonts with something more readable
- You can now repair damage to your ship at the shipyard
- Overhauled the store interface for buying ships, weapons, and consumables
- The store now has messages when failing to purchase modules
- Weapon details now show projectile speed
- Planets can now have moons and space stations
- Planets now have higher quality sprites
- The Research economy type has been changed to Outpost
- Some minor adjustments to some import/exports
- Star systems now have a security rating (lower security systems have more pirates)

- Star system information now displays illegal goods
- Star system information now shows a list of the largest star ports
- Ships now have limited jump range
- Ships now consume deuterium fuel when jumping
- The AI now does some basic evasive maneuvers
- The AI now flies towards a planet if it's taken heavy damage

- Added another navigational aid that shows the direction of star ports
