The fight for survival is on! OverDose is a class, team & objective based multiplayer game set on a post-apocalyptic Earth. With gameplay in the tradition of classic games such as Return to Castle Wolfenstein and Enemy Territory, melded with up to date gameplay mechanics and movement, OverDose is a unique blend of online action, team play and of course, lots of gore. Using id tech 2 as a base, OverDose features updated engine features like full real time lighting and shadow mapping, physically based rendering, particle and physics simulations and more. Plus, in classic id Software tradition, our engine and game are fully moddable and scriptable, meaning even amateur mod makers can bring their own creations to life with ease. This isn't war... It's an all out apocalypse!
This is a work in progress screenshot. No effects are shown at this time, and the light shaft in this picture is currently drawing behind the decals (Look at the big dark mark in the middle).
Where is the top image from?
That's the map before the new engine updates an renovations.
wolfenstein enemy territory
Return to Castle Wolfenstein mp_beach. It has been adapted to ET later.
Looks awesome. :)
Wow, you guys really revamped the ID Tech 2 engine!!
The top-image is ID Tech III in fact.
Is there a skeleton sitting on that chair ?! :-o
The top image is from id Tech 3 shooter RtCW, which OverDose is VERY losely based around in gameplay.
OverDose is based on Quake 2 at its heart, as it started from Quake II Evolved.
Makes me wanna see Quake II revamped with your stuff
thats a really nice screenshot guys! its a blast, keep it up
My only advice would be to play around with the color correction, its way to heavy on sephia
jpeg compression is messing a tad with the colour there, its not AS sepia ingame, although I am doing it a lot on purpose. Not only does a lack of saturation help sell the theme and setting, it also helps when it comes to playing colours inb the level off each other as different areas have different visual tones/themes.
uh, yeah, but it looks pretty boring like that, everything has almost the same color.("brown is real")
Without sounding too emo, the drawn out colours and lack of saturation on there on purpose. It's fits a specific style and theme that's not a limitation of the engine, it's just what I designed this part like.
The key word there is part. There's lots of colour in the map, this is but one room. Even the bathroom screenshots are using the wrong color correction post process. Give it time, I'm but one man :)
******' beautiful :')
Im not seeing any changes?
Kidding, it looks AMAZING!
