Hi everyone!

Over the coming weeks you’re going to be seeing a lot going on with Odyssey. We’re delighted to say that we’re putting the finishing touches to a playable version of the game as we speak, and we’re planning to release this via Steam Early Access in the near future.

We’re passionate about making Odyssey as good as it can be - from both an educational perspective, and a gaming one. We believe we’re onto something quite special here: a meaningful, interactive, educational experience for all ages (including grown-ups!)... but it will only work as intended if the game itself is superb.

That’s why we want to get Odyssey out into the open as early as possible, and start getting feedback from our players. While we have most of the game designed, mapped out, and at least partially built, it’s the subtleties, the nuances of the game, that we want to hone as we move forward. What we’ll be releasing on Early Access is very much a playable game, a full and enjoyable experience that we hope you get a lot of out of… but we know it can be better, and we believe those in our community are the right people to help us!

For our Kickstarter backers who pledged $10 or more, this means you’ll be receiving your copies alongside the Early Access release.

We’ve been hard at work improving various aspects of the game over the past few months, and it’s almost ready to show off. We’re having an original soundtrack composed, improving the user interface, and adding those all-important details (such as animated page-turning in Kai’s journal) that add an extra special something to the game. We’re just doing a little bit more work on these areas, as well as fixing some bugs, then we’ll be confident it’s ready - and we’ll set in stone a release date and give you a more complete update that we think you’ll really enjoy!

In the meantime, below are a few new screenshots. Remember, you can follow us on Twitter @theodysseygame and on Facebook at facebook.com/theodysseygame.

Stay tuned!
