In Verbis Virtus is a first person view video game that mixes action and puzzle elements in a fantasy setting, in the game you play as a wizard who can perform spells pronouncing magic formulas. The innovation introduced by this game is in the control system: the player must use a microphone to cast spells by actually saying the magic words.

While playing In Verbis Virtus we find ourselves completely unarmed in a dark dungeon that hides many dangers. The only way to overcome the obstacles that you'll find is to learn the secrets of the arcane arts of magic through books that the protagonist finds along his path. These tomes teach magic formulas which, if pronounced correctly, enable you to perform many spells. Using these powers in a creative way the player can solve puzzles, overcome traps and kill the enemies that try to hinder him.

This game is A-M-A-Z-I-N-G too many people are focused on the idea of voice recognition in this game (which is awesome) but the atmosphere and artstyle really blow me away personally. The voice recognition is just the icing on the cake.

I did a spotlight for it on my channel check it out if you want to see some gameplay.

You have my vote on Greenlight! Really good work with the voice-recognition. I'm definitely looking forward to the new demo and release, and I hope you guys can make it on Steam, too.

Finally got around to trying the demo and I'm stunned by your level design. Seriously, it's a work of art. Also, the voice-casting system works great and never failed to understand me.

Can't wait to chuck fireballs at beasties (and possibly chuck the beasties!) using my voice! :D

If you want a fast reply, why don't you simply send a direct message or a mail, instead of writing a comment?
If you experience any issue with the microphone recognition please find this log file:

and send it to:

Awesome main theme! The idea with voice-recognition seemed so innovative I had to try it out. It was really great! Best of luck to the team :]

Some of the issues which occured for me:
- The game didn't recognize any sound output from my logitech USB headset
- The "beam of light" spell had quite a high-pitched noise, which started to pain my ears slightly as I got stuck on a puzzle
