Huge letters loom in the darkness of the RNG. The sinister organisation of the ILLUMINASCII conspire to bring forth a New World Order throughout all the ascii land. As the lowly @ symbol, can you defeat their agents and overturn the conspiracy? Illuminascii is a new FPS with a ascii text based visual style that features randomly generated content and roguelike elements. Monsters, Weapons, Armor and Levels are all created with random characteristics. As a fan of both roguelike and FPS style games, this is a game that embodies not only the spirit of a roguelike, but also the aesthetics. The feel of a roguelike, in a modern engine. Illuminascii is the result of that idea - Taking the roguelike and merging it with an FPS.

This is a really awesome concept and i rather like to demo. it might just be my play style, but i often find it easy to get lost and end up starving to death more often than a monster killing me

Definitely an interesting game; I had a lot of trouble at the start due to my neglect of watching tutorials. After a couple of deaths, I finally got the hang of it. Got to level 4 before other means of intervention drew my attention away from my computer. 10/10 for the Breaking Bad reference.

Just played the alpha, I had a lot of fun. The game is still quite rough around the edges, but I'm sure it will be brilliant when it's finished.

Some very odd things happened while playing. I flew all the way across the graveyard map when I bumped into an enemy and one time kicking a trash can resulted in another trash can popping out (Yay, more trash cans to kick!).

Also the game got quite impossible for me at level 7. I had an assault rifle that had killed everything with one shot earlier, but on level 7 I got killed by the first monster I encountered after shooting at it six times. Are individual mosters' stats randomly generated or are all monsters on a level the same?

Definitely working on the bugs you mention! With the levels, its worth bearing in mind that whilst the monsters get more powerful as you go to higher levels, your weapons do not!

I'd very much like to- I've not been able to get a linux build running on my ubuntu test bed yet, but I tell you what; I'll run off a linux version on my next release and we'll see if it works for the people who know what they're doing with linux.
