With Frozen Hearth Immanitas Entertainment is looking to shake up the world of strategy games later on this year. With an enticing storyline set in an original Dark Fantasy world, the game combines fast-paced RTS action reminiscent of League of Legends with RPG elements, allowing players to improve and customise their characters.
Players take control of a hero of the bellicose Danaan peoples and jump right into the action. The Danaan homelands are being threatened by strange ice demons who are transforming everything into an ice desert. Being confronted by such an overwhelming enemy force the Danaan’s only hope of survival is flight. Using their tactical cunning players must build and command their forces, train heroes and use dozens of skills, spells and items.
The game is split into 3 Acts with 18 varied missions which can also be played co-operatively with other players. Beyond the story experience strategy fans will also be able to jump into frantic and epic multiplayer battles.

As MOD DB is a community for players who want to mod games, we decided to show the MOD DB community what Epiphany has in the pipeline for Frozen Hearth, and what we have developed.
From day one of development we intended Frozen Hearth to be a modifiable RTS, this is one of the core features that we worked on. The game itself lends itself to modification from the addition of new races to new game-play, MODs are part of the framework. Sure we do have most of the game logic itself in C++ and this is because its required really, but we used LUA for large amounts of data and scripting.
We also created a tool for entering and adjusting data this is called Hydra, a really cool product in its own right which will leave game designers salivating at the power it provides. Hydra will enable game designers to adjust unit stats, create new spells that use existing hooked up C++ functions and enter text for "Scenario type game types".
These tools, as described are intended on being given to the community. We set out to build and RTS that we wanted to play, and these tools are a part of it. Epiphany Games is wants true community participation in all our titles. We are however a small team so it does take us time but I think everyone who mods games will like our tools.

Hello All,
I just bought Frozen Hearth and I got the following error while attempting to register:
"Registration Error: 140:This serial number is in use with another existing account."
The key given by Desura seems to be already used... Any idea?
Thanks for your help!
Hi,
Can you contact frontdesk@epiphanygames.com.au with your serial number that your trying to use and ill send you another one. I also have to talk to Desura to work that out how that could happen. Lets get you playing. Sorry I didn't get back to you sooner we have a forum that we check but ill check back here more often.
Hi,
I'll do that right away, thanks for your kind answer.
What's the model format for this game to create new assets?
Please be something that's not 3ds max only. :P
New assets are Nif for non animated assets, KFM and KF for animated assets. There are plenty of tools to turn any asset into a NIF file. I think MOD DB has a list of tools. You can use Maya (we use Maya) or you can use anything which makes an OBJ file. Animation is a bit trickier, as you need to skin and rig.
Kotaku.com.au Really awesome article about us!
Looks really interesting but I am kind of curious why it is $25 here and $20 at Gamersgate. (In US prices)
Also, if the game gets Greenlighted will you give Steam keys to existing purchasers?
Gamersgate is running a discount at the moment rec-retail is $29.95, Desura is running a 10% discount. I don't directly control the pricing of the game with the individual partners. As for Steam keys good question. Depends if Steam will let us issue keys for free. We have the keys and control them and if you register with us we can know. Once we get Greenlight our server will hook into Steam, but as we don't have the API now we can't thats another reason we need registered users. Its my hope to give a Steam key to anyone who bought the game, so they don't have to buy it twice.
Thanks for the support guys, we appreciate it and its good to see some keen modders on our forums too.
Holy ****, this game is excellent. You win this round Epiphany Games!
