Dark Gates

If you ever played paper RPG Death Maze, Citadel of Blood or Labirynt Śmierci then you already know this game. DG is a tribute to this RPG (three names but game the same). In Dark Gates you lead your team of 6 heroes into dungeon where they will fight their way through in order to destroy Dark Gates and evil mage who is the master of the dungeon. Main feature of the game is dungeon itself. This is no predefined layout and every time you play, map is always different. Dungeon creates itself as you play. In your quest you will find monsters, magical items, trap, puzzles and treasures. Glory awaits one who destroys Dark Gates and evil mage. Game is in alpha stage, lot's of stuff missing or not working as intended.

New release is mainly a bugfix one. Two major bugs has been squashed. One is a non QWERTY keyboard support. For every one who is not using QWERTY setup, latest game features has been not accessible. This is now fixed and you should be able to play Dark Gates on any keyboard. Second major bug was affecting Windows version only, were some tiles had wrong names which end up in game crash if tile has been selected. Lastly, in this release Windows version has been shipped with debug console. If you still experiencing game crashes, please run Dark Gates from command line and debug console will show errors in event of sudden crash. Please report any problems to me.
When updating to 0.4.1 I strongly advise to uninstall last version and do a fresh install. To preserve your team layouts and save games please do a backup for savegame dir:
Linux: ~/desura/common/dark-gates/savegame/
Windows: C:\Program Files\Desura\commom\dark-gates\savegame

Sorry for problems with Windows version of #DarkGates. There will be a new version soon, addressing those issues. Linux ver. not affected.

The same.. Crash to desktop without message.
Windows 8. After the 3 combat, trying to move and crash.
Hi. 0.4.1 release is already uploaded for authorisation on Desura. This bug is fixed in this release. Hopefully it will be out today.
Still the bug.. crash to desktop on Win8.
And have one (previous game) killing a ghost, my player is dead too?! The avatar of the player have disapeared?! Reset game.. was the only solution :o) so, four try to play the game (5 min), I haven't the opportunity to save..

any chance you have debug info from console on crash ? I will try to track it down.
As for fight. If your hero dies, your team will got into team movement phase where you need to fill 3 top slots. Otherwise game will not let you to skip this phase. Dos that sounds like it ?

HI, it makes no sense to me :) but thanks. I will compile next windows version with console, so when you will run it from command line and game crashes, it will give you an python error, which i can easily track. Or will build some dump to error.log file.

I found those bugs, which crash game back to Windows. This is only affecting Windows version. Fix in next release.
