Conquest is a simultaneous turn-based strategy game placed in a dark and distant future. Play the role of a futuristic commander. Divide your armies and conquer the world. Position satellites to reveal your opponents. Launch missiles to annihilate large troop formations, but watch out for incoming drop pods behind your back. Standing in your path to victory are other commanders like yourself. Fight them off one by one and prove you are the greatest of the great. The combination of fast gameplay and randomly generated maps equals to long, restless nights of battles for cities. Drag and drop your way to victory. Divide and conquer!

  • Added victory options (75% control, 100% control, none).
  • Added one more zoom step further out. This is now the default.
  • Added French translation (thanks to Hyeron).
  • Added a new tip on game over.
  • Added turn complete hint.
  • Improved language support. Data/Languages/ and ModData/Languages/ are now scanned for available languages.
  • Improved zooming, it now has a constant duration instead of speed. Zooming in or out over multiple steps is speedier and more natural.
  • Improved blood emission.
  • Improved network code.
  • Improved battle resolution for alliance combat (thanks to Bianary).
  • Framerate is now capped at 75 instead of 59 when vsync is on.
  • EULA is now displayed on game start instead of account creation.
  • Fixed EULA typos (thanks to Hyeron).
  • Removed REVERSE ENGINEERING EULA clause.
  • Removed server --run flag. ConquestServer.exe now displays a console by default on Windows. When started through the client the console is hidden.

That's awesome!!! Do you mind if I add it to the videos section here and on our site?

One quick note: you can add up to 5 AIs even in the demo version. You can also team up with an AI and play 2v2!

I downloaded the demo for windows, installed it, but when its checking for updates it gices me this long message:

Updater.cpp(234): void Conquest::Updater::DownloadUpdate(): Error:
Checksum of file "Data/Textures/Ground/DesertGround0.png" does not
match remote checksum, try restarting.

Then a c++ window comes up and blahs on about something. That texture file is there and restarting doesent help, this was like update 104 or somewhere close to that. I would like to try out this game, thatnks.

It should work if you redownload now. I removed the downloads from ModDB/IndieDB since they were very old. You can still use Desura for the demo or just download from Conquest-game.com

I just installed the demo and it won't launch because the binary folder is named "Binaries" instead of the expected bin. After renaming the directory, the game still won't launch though. So I removed the entire folder and reinstalled, and now I instead get an error that file /desura/.settings/game_lib32/libjpeg.so.64 couldn't be opened. Is anyone else having similar problems?

I'd love to see it on a touchscreen device myself, but we don't have the resources to commit to it at the moment.

I agree wholeheartedly to this! I would play this game all the time on my phone or tablet. These kinds of games work really well in the mobile environment as long as there is some flexibility with the time requirement of the user, as mobile gamers tend to play in small short stints.
