Last weekend we at Dancing Dinosaur Games took part in the 48 hour game development challenge the idea was to create a game that allowed the player to construct their own world and story within the time limit of 48 hours, using shapes (Rectangle, Triangle and Crescent.) Details Here.

Our game is called "Potania: 'Is cold, also dark.'", it is a simple take on the town management genre, the game takes place in the cold and desolate land of Potania, where the main crux of the society is the Starch-rich Potato.

The goal of the game is to collect Potatoes using the available buildings which include the trail-blazing Bon-fires, Wheat farms to help feed those who'll be working towards gaining the much more desirable potatoes as well as Loggers to gain the raw materials required to create many of the buildings.

There are a few issues with the game as it was created very quickly, once the competition is over we will be making the game available as a free download with bugfixes and possibly some new content.

But for now, Check out the Game Dev Challenge website, Have a look at all of the games and Vote for those that you like, many great games were created over the competition so be sure to give them a look.
