Experience sci-fi tactical combat and exploration in a procedural world that combines traditional roguelikes with an immersive modern interface like no other. Build yourself from components found or salvaged from other robots. Attach power sources, propulsion units, utilities, and weapons to become a slow tank bristling with weapons, or a fast-moving flier zipping past enemies before they even have time to react, or a stealthy sword-wielding assassin/hacker, or whatever else you can come up with from the salvage you find. The situation can quickly change as you lose components and rebuild yourself from enemy remains. You are the Cogmind. Discover what that means as you explore a living, breathing world ruled by robots.

A little background about Cogmind's development, and what kinds of content will be shared on Indie DB.

Posted by on

Cogmind has been in development for more than a year now, and at this point is about 70% complete. Before now news about the game has been frequent, but promotion was limited to developer and roguelike-specific communities. Cogmind is far enough along to begin sharing it with a slightly wider audience, so I've finally added it to Indie DB.

The active dev blog covers many topics, some of which are more developer-oriented, and others which are more relevant to players. For now the latter content will be the kind that finds its way to Indie DB (for more behind-the-scenes type articles keep tabs on the dev blog itself). Indie DB will also be updated with release news once the game reaches that stage.

Early on I'll probably go back and select some older (but still equally relevant) dev blog posts to cross-post here, as a way to introduce parts of the game mechanics and content.
