Claiming Xodius is 2D action-rpg set in a parallel universe. The game has a minimalist story with a primary emphasis on exploring the world, fighting monsters and building a party. This old-school game features real time combat, classic RPG elements, many items to collect and create, and much more.

There's a part of Claiming Xodius that has bothered me for a long time now. No stamina/mana system in CX. This meant made the fights pretty redundant.
The fix brought in by version Remora?
The cool-down/over-heat system. Tools heat up as you use them leading to a powered-up overheated attack, however after this attack is executed, the tool can't be used until it cools down to zero. So fights take a little more planning. Also, since version Quillfish, element advantages have become much more important.
All the sounds have been completed for Remora! This means that water, light, and dark attacks now have some nice sound effects. Some animations have also been added for the air and water attacks. Earth is still lacking and will be getting attention in the next update.
Since we're pushing Remora into the area of paid games, it has become more important to have a larger variety of customization options.
One of the main ones is the screen resolution setting. Now the game can be played in either standard or widescreen mode. However, standard resolution (much less common) does not work with menus in 2-player.
There are also options to enable numbers that display damage dealt/recovered, experience gained, and orbs collected. We've added an option to enable 2-player mode. We reccomend that you use a controller, but the keyboard can also be set up for two players. Once enabled, the 2nd player can press 'start' to join.
Another option is "allow quick heal". This option allows your party members to use your healing items. It also enables the quick heal pop ups for the player. We added this one because a lot of people were mentioning how the party members were using all the potions.
You can now set whether a player plays with the keboard or the gamepad. Keyboard and gamepad controls can also be customized to your liking. This could be a little more integrated with the in-game tips, but it does what it needs to for now.
So this is a pretty large update

How do I receive medals? I feel like there are no more secrets.
There aren't achievement-like medals in the game if that's what you mean. The gold and silver medals are in game items for having a larger party. Ummm you may have beaten it, but if you were playing a version before Quillfish there wasn't a clear ending
Hey! Loving the game! Do you have a contact email I can reach you at? I would like to run some things by you. :)
Hey, You can pm me if you'd like.
ahh this is cool game. could i know what program you used to create it?
Hey, thanks! It was made with Game Maker Studio
Hello dev(s), I downloaded this game more or less 12 hours ago, and I simply loved everything about it. The unique perspective takes a while to get used to but once you get into the groove of things, it's all happy hack'n'slash. A few things to nitpick about:
• The save/load options: I think it would be better if they have a place in the spinning menu instead of having them as hotkeys on 1 & 2. And have at least three separate save slots for each character. (I actually lost 10 hours of gameplay due to how easy it is to load and save, but I'm not that agitated by it, it was my mistake but others may find that frustrating and if possible I hope you could minimize that.) Another option is that you can only save on campfires, but can load any save from anywhere in the world.
• On another note about the save/load option, after accidentally loading a save only my inventory + menu options (map, cellphone, etc.) + allies got reverted. But my character still stood in the same place before I loaded the old save.
• I wish you could hot key certain healing items to be used, alongside with the "Heal" Press C that triggers when you're low on health which uses the best possible healing item. I'd rather not use my largest potion when fighting casual enemies.
• That one room with 10 pots and 2 chests is exploitable, I could easily go in and out breaking pots and farm for items (shards/potions/etc.) Maybe to minimize exploitation with that room but maybe after breaking the same pots 3(variable) times, any more attempts would yield nothing. Then the limit counter resets whenever you enter a town area.
Whether these were intentional, I don't know. So I figured to still post it. Aside from those things, I really liked what the game has to offer so far. Thank you for sharing & creating this game! (Sorry about this wall of text, I don't know where else to post about these things. Feel free to delete this post if possible & necessary.)
Hey, glad you liked it and put in all that time. I accidentally put an older version of the game up at first, so you may have been playing v_javelin instead of v_koi. Koi has maybe 2x the maps and a little more story
The saving/loading was an interesting catch, because I had no idea that was still in the game. The way, saving should work is using the "save & quit" option from the pause menu, but saving at campfires would be a good idea.
Hot keys could be a good option for using healing items. I'll think about it. You can always use them from the inventory screen, but it's a little slow..
Exploiting pots :D Maybe good drops will be made a little more rare, but some people enjoy farming stuff like that(?) so it might stay. But limiting the drops is a cool idea.
Thanks for playing. I really appreciate your input!
awesome game i love it keep going :)
Thanks! glad you liked it! Will do
