I'm playing around with explosives. Doors can now have explosive booby traps.
If there are any on them when you examine them you are notified and then you can disarm them.
Also now the fire alarms get triggered by smoke. You can turn that off in the options if it's annoying.
Seems gimmicky. Perhaps just a flashbang or direct the blast at the legs?
Not sure I understand how you mean. The explosion seems underwhelming? The charge is placed at a random height so it could be at the face or down by the legs or anywhere between.
That's better than what I thought, I was worried that it would be an instant death if you came across one. Will there be counters to this?
Yes, if you do the examine action on the door you will be told that it's rigged. And if you open the door gradually it plays an audio cue on the first increment, like a wire tightening up.
