Crysis 3 has been announced and is scheduled for release in 2013

Set in 2047, Prophet is on a revenge mission after uncovering the truth behind Cell Corporation’s motives for building the quarantined Nanodomes. The citizens were told that the giant citywide structures were resurrected to protect the population and to cleanse these metropolises of the remnants of Ceph forces. In reality, the Nanodomes are CELL’s covert attempt at a land and technology grab in their quest for global domination. With Alien Ceph lurking around every corner and human enemies on the attack, nobody is safe in the path of vengeance. Everyone is a target in Prophet’s quest for retribution.

Crysis 3 will be available spring 2013 for the Xbox 360®, PlayStation®3 and PC.

Back to the jungle.
Me Gusta
Wait a minute, Prophet died in Crysis 2 (shot himself in the head to give alcatraz the suit), so I'm guessing this is a prequel to Crysis 2 then?
Ah nvm, just read the plot for crysis 2 on wikipedia and at the end Alcatraz becomes Prophet. Forgot about that entirely.
They (in Crysis 2) mistake alcatraz with profet, so that's why they say that's profet, the guy in the nanosuit is still alcatraz. So Crysis 3 IS a sequel to Crysis 2.
No, at the beginning they mistake Alcatraz for Prophet but at the end of the game (you have to listen to the end cinematic), the nano-suit takes over him and becomes Prophet.
Again people, cut scenes are part of the plot as well...
Ah this looks more like the Crysis I loved ;) After Crysis 2 I said I wouldn't buy Crysis 3 (if it would be developed), but after seeing these screenshots I think I'll have to change my mind... :D
I like it! But please, please, PLEASE stop with this Origin ********. Also, develop for PC then scale down to console, not the other way around. It seems like the best way to make all the platforms push their hardware as much as possible.
Thank you for being a semi-tolerant PC gamer. Much respect to you.
EXACTLY, I didn't even buy Crysis 2 because it ticked me off that crytek had gone console like all the other devs these days.
Since the PC is a MORE powerful system, it just makes sense to develope and push PC limits and then move to console afterwards. Then everyone gets the best possible product.
This looks promising if they make it more open world than Crysis 2 was. I hope the final product will succesfully merge the jungle, post-apocalyptic, and city themes with better gameplay. I wasn't entilely happy with some of the changes to the nanosuit introduced in C2. Also, new _varied_ enemies and more impressive bosses please. The Pingers were acceptable, but not great.
I won't delete my comment, but the article linked in this news post was informative.
wow! ofcourse did i expect a follow up to crysis2, but this soon i didn't expect! so, great news!
although i also hope that C3 will be more like C(1), meaning a open world environment. because that was the real strength of far cry and Crysis 1 when you ask me. really great news!
i assume it will take at least 1 year or more before we get our hands on this, but it is very nice to know and something to look forward to!
thanks Duruk!
