This is usual with indie games. Most teams are, like yours, too small to have a specialised devs for each role. As you can see, there's a lot of solo devs too.
I currently work alone - Have no team but I do have assistants in many subjects (like story line, design and more) which doesn't ask for credits (they DO NOT want to show up in the credits...)
I think it's important for indie developers to take on more than one role. Presumably many of us want to some day work in the industry so broadening our knowledge and skill base is important. The more things you do on your own games means the more things you can put on that resume. It's definitely something to be proud of and encouraged.
I am a Solo Dev :( Nobody near me want to make games... Recently I've gain "padawan" but without huge promises. But still I don't have any good "2D pixel graphic padawan" :(
I would love to have a little team. Cant find anyone around me and can't afford to pay anyone though. Even someone not developing, like a marketing person would be fantabulous.
Hehe, I like to do all tasks because it keeps things fresh. Whenever I'm bored with sound design I'll go do some artwork, bored with that I'll go script some more and so on. I can't imagine doing a full coding run like I did last month. ~30 evenings of code flying past mine eyes -_-
My team is to small to allow me only one role.
I'm surprised so many others have more then one role.

I'm making my first intended-for-release game this year and I'm in the prototype phase. I do mostly level design, scripting, animation and writing.

I do every role, but I'm working in RPG Maker VX so that isn't that hard to do everything. Still, I can work at my own pace so that's a big plus.
