The Scrimmage Loop where the full gameplay loop is finally playable was completed last week like announced on social media. We can now build decks and fight with them! We are trying to finish the DB Loop and get the build to a state where there is a solid pass on the shell, cards, and levels in anticipation for the Twitch Event on January 29. More card art!

Development

The Scrimmage Loop where the gameplay loop is finally playable was completed last week like announced on social media. We can now build decks and fight with them! We are trying to finish the DB Loop and get the build to a state where there is a solid pass on the shell, cards, and levels in anticipation for the Twitch Event.

  • The Engineering team worked on card features including copying unit features; HUD features including removing player token from timeline; shell including flow, raid screen, My Labyrinth screen, deck editor, card collection; effects including 3D knockback, teleport, sweep, and snappier actions and movement; other engineering "stuff" including refactor save/load and serialization, design tools, improved continuous build system to build Playfab server, leaderboard API for web pages; and moving pre-alpha build from editor to platforms: Steam build up, working on iOS and android builds.
  • The Art team worked on animating the Priestess of Sun including skinning, rigging, plus animations and skinning for the Royal Stonemason; card art for Bane and Zigg; effects for dodge, Heal Warfare, Blademaster melee, Duelist melee, thief melee, and blind debuff; character art including Wizard of Wastes model, Zombie Hunter tweaks, magic tube sigils, and experiments for Shenjang; level work for the Giant boss; and UI work including matchmaking screen, landing screen standardization, deck builder.
  • The Design team worked on map/scene integration and polish; implementing cards for Ancient Master deck, Minotaur deck, and Wizardry boss cards.
  • The Audio team worked on a dozen various new gameplay sounds, tuned sounds on all characters, and added ambient sounds.

Twitch Streaming Event

Whether you plan to stream or watch, pencil in January 29th for the start of the Twitch Streaming event of the upcoming pre-alpha build of Labyrinth. Once we have more details available, we will announce it in the updates here and other online channels.
