Looks like M&B with fantasy and without a world map.

Thank you for the comment! Exploration is done in third person, as well as battle. You can explore the game world in similar style to some of the most popular RPGs today. We did plan to have fantasy creatures in the game: evil has overrun the land, and it is up to you to defeat the forces of chaos and restore order.

I have to agree. The similarities right now are are very obvious. We probably have to see how this evolves, but as it looks and feels while watching the gameplay above, this could easily be a Mount & Blade Modification, just with another interface. Even the Facial Generation on the Kickstarter Page looks almost too much like the one Mount & Blade is already catering for years.

With Mount & Blade Bannerlord ahead, you might want to think about what you can do differently, new or better to find a niche that acutally is something players didn't see already in another title.

LOL, The horse combat is what ties it to Mount and blade, exact same animations.

Hello! Thank you for the comment! Games that have great combat systems will share certain characteristics: Fortis Rex has a directional combat system that is camera dependent, move your camera right and play sword slash left to right, move your camera down and play sword thrust, etc. We developed all the animations ourselves, however. Thank you again!

Games that have great attributes usually share much in common. We are using the UDK(Unreal Development Kit) to develop Fortis Rex, and created all the systems specifically for Fortis Rex, from the ground up, using our own logic to develop the game. Thank you for the comment!

Ha yes, we emphasized the specular maps to give better graphics in FR, but you can turn the bloom down in the menu :)

My only concern, is why was this not budgeted for in your first kickstarter?
You must have known then you had these fees coming up, did all the prior funds go into purchasing 3dsmax, why couldn't you have used a cheaper package like 3DCoat or Free like blender.

I will not make assumptions about it looking like mount and blade, i have played mob and the animations do seem very close, but thats mounted combat, i guess, if your using mob animations as placeholders, you shouldnt really be using this work to showcase your game, if your not, top notch animations.

+1 Tracking, looking forward to more updates on this one!

Thank you for the comment! We set our first Kickstarter only for the minimum core amount needed to buy most of the models for Fortis Rex, the full commercial licenses to the programs we are using(3ds Max 2013, Flash CS5(for creation of menus), and UDK, plus new hardware. We developed all of the animations ourselves, however. Thank you again!

There is nothing wrong with taking inspiration from M&B (great game). It's just funny that it also looks alot like M&B (with added cloudshadows).
