In the past days InfinityAdmin has been working on 'strange attractors' in order to get nice looking nebulae. Like any procedural algorithm, it's easy to code the basics, but hard as hell to find the good parameters so that "it looks good". After a lot of testing of new colors, new algorithms and new variations of existing algorithms the results are starting to look very good. All the nebulae in Infinity are unique and will be fully volumetric.

the next two images are a nebulaes deformed with Perlin noise and rendered from 2 different viewpoints (work-in-progress):

We also want to thank the moddb crew for giving us the Visual Delight award, we appreciate it!

So, theoretically, a player could create something similar to that of HW1's 'Garden of Kadesh', setting up bases hidden within the nebula, and destroying all who enter the holy place...
