An update on the state of Hawks development and the exciting multiplayer mode.

It has been a productive period!
Most of the base code and air based assets for the campaign mode of Hawks are in place and ready. What remains is the creation of environments and ground based enemies.

Managing a full time job and indie gamedev can be a bit challenging at times :). I had plans to release the first build of the game by 26th Jan, the Indian Republic Day. After all, aerial combat without patriotism is no fun. I was showing off the single player build to a few of my friends when the talk of having a multiplayer mode came up. While I had plans to release Hawks as a single player only game, the prospect of having gamers fragging each other in multiplayer mode was too good to pass up without experimenting.
Finally, I decided to push off the release date and implement a MP deathmatch mode.
After spending hours on tweaking the networking code and rewriting most of the game logic, I am proud to say that it works!!!
The beta build having SP & MP should be ready within this month and I will be inviting beta testers to help me fine tune the game.
