Post news RSS Devlog #3 - Movement

In this devlog, we show some of the updated movement for "Anything but Dark", using a custom physics system.

Until now, throughout the development of "Anything but Dark", we've used Unity's standard physics system to build the game's movement and environment interaction upon.

Please note that any animations displayed in these video previews are still being worked on.

This video illustrates the movement using Unity's physics system:

Recently however, we moved onto building and using a custom physics system, that would allows us to better tweak the movement to match what we envisioned for the project. This made it easier to make the movement feel less floaty, but not overly realistic, leading to a better feel of control over the character.

Here is how the movement looks using the new custom physics:

We hope you've enjoyed this look at the current technical focus of the project.

Stay tuned to learn more about our game through future devlogs!
