Love the video. The game looks fun to play, and not too hard like you mentioned.
I would love a little bit more change between the levels.
The graphics and the whole style is amazing, but let's say for example in the level where you are chased by the cloud of objects, they could maybe change their color (to angry-mode color :) - which could just be a little darker, or brighter... but some change to give the feeling that each level is different).
Cool game. Good luck with it !
I am realy happy you liked the game. The colorss are not yet final, but do you think it would be good to mix up different obstacles (maybe give them all shades of colors between red and yellow), the same could be done for the level borders, to not make the game feel so repetative from a color perspective. Or do you think i should swap the entire colors from level to level? Another possibility would be to increase the number of colors that each rectangle can have, or letting it shift over it's lifetime. Anyway i will defenatly take a look into the entire colloring again and i made it easy on me to swap colors, but i am not sure where the journey will lead me, if you have any thoughts on this please let me know, because once i have around 20 levels i will do another polish itteration, in which i will also take a look how i can change the colors.
Thanks for your input, it is realy appreciated!
No problem my friend:)
Thanks for taking the comment seriously.
I must say agin I love them gamed design, but colors by beahavoirs (even really minor changed could make the player he's making more progress,
I know somstimes I can Remove a agme 5 minutes after playning just because the whold background didn't change for 2 levels because I sau:"This game is not goinf to surprise me, let's delete it. When all rhe levels look alike, I immediately erase a game, evne if the gameplay was good.
I am still not quite sure, are you suggesting changing colors based on obstacles, so that the player sees new stuff instantly, or just by levels?
more by enemy types and behaviors.
but don't get me wrong, I love your design. it's really original and beautiful.
I did not get the impression that you do not like the design, i just wanted to make sure i realy understand your point. I will probably firs try an approach where colors will change during levels (from start to finish, in just a very slight way) and then over levels slightly stronger. This way you should get a feeling of progression wile also making the levels feel more different. If that doesnt achieve what we are talking about, i will do another itteration. Thanks again for your feedback!
you nailed it !
it's what I was talking about. sorry if I wasn't clear (had a few beers before writing those lines :) - your game looks very cool on alcohol by the way :) )
