Game's gore got too complex, was an *** to code and kept causing many errors. After a lot of this he just gave up on the game and abandoned it.

No, the game was just abandoned. I'm pretty sure the creator is alive but will never update it again. The gore of the game started causing issues, and it was a hell to code, so the Dev just gave up.
