Right now I am working really hard to get it completed for the Microsoft Dream.Build.Play Challenge (dealine is June 12th) so I have been focusing on the Xbox version. I am hoping to release for Xbox in June and the PC in July or August. The Xbox cost is going to be 80MSP (around $1) and PC price should be around fairly close to that.

Yes, you are correct! I cringed everytime I saw red blood coming from an enemy that it shouldn't come from. So I have updated the blood system to have different types and colours. No more red blood coming from skeletons!

There was a bug with the consumable item count on the assignable buttons updating during the recording of that video. It has been fixed now.

Thanks!

Yes, once I get the core features completed I will be looking for testers for both Xbox and PC. The item identification system and enemy path finding were implemented last night. The next big things are the player skills system and enemy AI.

JohnnyMaverik, those are all valid questions.

Yes, the game runs on and is being developed on the PC. Actually it runs a hell of a lot better on the PC than the 360 (see my website for a blog posting about 360 performance issues).

However, the reason we are releasing it as a 360 exclusive is the control scheme. It is based on the the 360’s dual stick controllerm where the left stick is being used to move, the right to aim attacks and the triggers to augment the attacks. The goal was to give a flowing 360 degree combat system where you can instantly switch from melee to ranged attacks and move in one direction and while attacking in another. In my opinion this is what makes the game as fun as it is.

It is funny that you ask about PC port. I was considering releasing a PC demo a couple days ago, but with the current control scheme I don’t think it would be practical as you would need a wired 360 controller to play it. Once the 360 version is out we will consider a PC port if we can work out a keyboard mouse control scheme that is good as the dual stick one, because there is no way can have a dual stick controller hardware requirement. If we cannot come up with a PC control scheme that is as good as the dual stick one it will not get released for PC. I am not going to release a bad port to try and make an extra couple bucks.

Hopefully that answers your questions,
Paul
