Came for new games, stayed for awesome members and projects.
Has it been 11 years already? Still can't get enough of this. Every time I listen to Слот it's like playing the mod for the first time all over again.
I've heard nothing but praise for this mod and downloaded it yesterday and in less than an hour it was gone. It's literally unplayable, the zombies are tanks and the whole thing is nothing but an escort mission with the worst A.I. I've ever seen. At the army base when you first meet the zombies is when I stopped. Barney can't even walk through an OPEN DOOR to use the radio.
I thought the Napalm Edition would be better. The music was horrid, the voice acting was pure cringe and the A.I. was a little better it was still hair pulling aggravation. I never completed either editions.
If Shellshock 2 is a rip off of this mod then GOD BLESS the people who made Shellshock 2 as that is actually playable, has decent A.I., has real scares, is fun to a degree and an okay story.
Has it really been 10 years since this came out already? That means S.T.A.L.K.E.R. is 10 years as well. I never tire of playing this, it's a true masterpiece. Also has great music from Slot which this mod introduced me to, over the years I've been able to grab 2 of their Russian albums with their English debut album.
That door banging still haunts me to this day. . .
This is just, unplayable. All the files are in Russian so no way to understand the files, not only that a lot of the translation comes up as characters instead of words, example: "We need to ^clean up^" There's a lack of direction causing the player to get lost and while this may not be the biggest problem in the world the bodies disappear without reason, this really takes away atmosphere.
The weapons have no feel to them. There's too many problems with this for me to recommend it at the moment, which is a shame because I want to like this.
It captures the overgrowth of plant life from the movie "Stalker" and the detail of danger and unknown from the novel "A Roadside Picnic." Oh yes, this going to have more then the 80 hours I have on the regular game, it's much more beautiful, but with beauty comes danger.
Don't you love mods that download an autoinstaller that do not install to the right path even after telling it to then nothing shows up in game and you spend almost an hour trying to put it in the folders and NOTHING happens.
I'm gonna' need proof of this. :o
It made a standalone release? I'm so happy!
This is sweet. Always wanted the weapons unlocked for all levels but to have some small extras is a treat. I play this a few times a year for a guilty pleasure of gore.
"The generic reskining modders were training me to be one of them, but I found other uses for those skills."
Well I'd like very much to play this but it's impossible. My rig is not even a full year old. Film grain on entire screen is one big white noise. Turn it off screen is completely black.
Does this work on Windows 7 64 bits? I bought a new computer and I've downloaded it, put it in the right folder but it says it can't find hl.exe
I really want to play this again. :(
I had forgotten about this, I am ashamed. :(
I really wish development was still going on, I've played Standalone Beta 3 several times, even the unfinished bonus maps and just love the music, detail, level design. It should be a crime that it just halted.
Indeed, taking time is critical to games rather it be AAA or indie. Caring about money or a a product on how you want it and not listening to feedback is what happened to Overkill. They used to be helpful, but since they made all their money back in pre-orders alone for Payday 2 they do not care about content, releasing bug filled patches, removing player liked aspects, leaving game breaking errors, etc.
I don't think anyone would think you abandoned it only after a month. There's been projects where there's been no news for over a year and it wasn't abandoned. Glad you let everyone know though, looking forward to seeing Blade in action.
The looks are great and the models are just as adorable as in the films. For my personal opinion on the setup, a multiplayer only game might not spread out large enough and doesn't really offer much exploration value. I would love a Single Player mode (no, I'm not talking a full length 8 hour game, that would be ridiculous for a small group of people) where you can choose your puppet and just kill people for no reason, just rampage through or do it stealthy.
I understand that a single player mode is not on the table and main focus is developing what is there now. Just hope that one day (if possible) there could be a small single player rampage option.
New from the Chernobyl Cordon, portable houses!
D3ads: "No! Don't go near it!"
Me: "I can't help it ... it's so beautifu-WA-WUAHHHHHHHHGaAIUAGJAFWEEeeeeeeeep"
Just downloaded 1.2 which I'm surprised I didn't see yesterday. It's everything I felt in X-16 in S.o.C. and then some. Fear, terror, depression, adrenaline. Saw the Snorks near the barge with Noah and though it was odd so my idiocy got the best of me so I went up to them instead of using binocs to see the detail on them. New sounds scared the **** out of me and I literally hit my screen.
Stanley realized that someone was talking bad about him and his work. Stanley never did take criticism lightly because he was perfect, and therefor, didn't need criticism. Stanley walked to the green door on his right which was the armory and picked up the first weapon he saw, it was a Springfield Glock 40. Stanley left the room and saw the man who was criticizing him, tombow97. Stanley was not sure if this person was a troll or just flat out retarded because when he walked to the man, he said that Stanley was even uglier in person then in the game. Stanley then knew that the man was flat out retarded because he kept his profile secret and has never been seen before. Stanley was a hard worker at what he did and had a new family to support, so he raised his gun and shot tombow97 in the face.
"Nice of you to show up remake, hope you're ready for a long wait."
Looks like S.T.A.L.K.E.R. and the mod Paranoia. . . TRACKING!
