A mod is a none commercial project and when freely distributed does not breach any copyrights nor intellectual property.

They, within the law, cannot stop you from making a mod. At least in the uk...

Secondly, I believe for the copyright to hold they would need to prove that your mod is based on the full ip they hold. As has been said before, I dont believe they hold the rights to Silmarrilion or many of the other book series. Take a look into that.

I write for the website End Gamers, and I find the idea of interactive movie fiction to be incredibly encouraging. One of the best star trek games I ever played was star trek borg, a fully interactive movie which was great fun.

Interesting game but...

I dont like your development studio. Lots of rumors of stolen content (with screenshots to prove it..) and then theres the case of the fired developers, a LOT of nasty rumors bout this studio lead me to not want to buy the game at all.

And i also didnt like your marketing team. The ego is immense, everytime i read something about your game studio online that came from you, it was very 'we are the best ever' yet...this IS your first game release, correct? Not the best way to go about it.

All in all i am seriously concerned by the lack of public response to the rumors.

Very cool, though the dialogue seems a little clunky.

It's a game, not a mod.

Complete with funding and the backing of the unreal team.

do your research and play it before you decide.

The mod had more content and gameplay hours than many retail co-op games ive played lately.

I can't wait for release. Ive been with the mod for a long time, I still occasionally play it, I remember being really happy when one of my suggestions was taken up.

I can't wait for the game! I really hope you guys kept the changing patterns for each level, the way the game cycled day/night, weather changed and you had storms and all sorts...REALLY made the game great.

For anyone with doubts: This mod (now being made into a retail game) won the unreal development award and funding to become a real game. Not just any mod can do that.

the game was bought out by korean companies. They have already released new content (theres a tokyo patch so you can visit tokyo and see what they are doing =/)

But of course, no english release is in sight.

sadly, this mod is dead. Voted anyway, but its dead. No word from the dev team at all since 09.

Fyi, minecraft's developer is being asked to join the Valve team after they saw his entry into the 'design a game in 24 hours' competition thiny. I think it was that, or 48. Either way, he made a fun game really, really quickly and did all the coding fast.

Either way they are BOTH good games made by talented dev teams. even if this does look like a minecraft rip =/

I have to say, it looks like minecraft.

More details as to why your game is 'new' are required.

Furthermore, if your gameplay and such is the same as minecraft, be very, very wary. Valve have taken an interest in minecraft.

And valve get nasty in court over small things.

I havent the slightest clue what happened to be honest. We moved over to some new forums, and then i was away for my finals in my degree. Came back and forums were down, team had vanished :P
