The problem with gore in Concept Art is that professional Concept Artists don't show any direct violence or much blood in their work. And there is a good reason for that. Currently, the development of the entertainment industry, especially the movie industry, is going in a direction that I don't like. The amount of horror movies that simply are extremely brutal raises and the audience watches the movies only due to that reason, which is dumb, that's at least how I think about those movies.

The same goes for movies with great visual effects, the storyline is stupid, the characters don't do much good acting anymore (or aren't even real any longer) and the audience still buys tickets, as it's the movie with the greatest effects they've ever seen.

It's okay, if there are a couple of movies that do it like that, but I don't like the effect that those movies take over the market, it's a shame.

Long story short: A good concept lets the viewer imagine all the horror and violence that is going on, without seeing it directly. It is much better to imagine those elements with your own fantasy, instead of having triggered all emotions by seeing extreme violence and gore on the picture itself. A side-effect of that is that you get used to those pictures/movies and then you need even more extreme violence and gore in the next movie to be interested in it and that is plain stupid, isn't it?
