We are making steady progress with the Civil War game.

We have recruited a couple of mappers familiar with TGE art pipeline.
The mappers will be working on both land and water based maps.
(rural farms, town square, and coastal fort)

Waiting on the last of the Soldier characters and then we will begin working to
improve and finalize the Soldiers.
(Officer, Regular Infantryman, State Militia, Trooper, Sailor, Nurse)

Working on prototype gunboats.
Should have working test version in next internal alpha.

Always on the look out for new recruits with the skills and dedication to help
make a fun and challenging game. (TGE programmer, TGE world/mission editors, Skinner, GUI artist)

Thanks
James

PS
Why the mention of "Battlegrounds"?
We can only hope to be as successful as the only American Revolutionary Mod for HL/HL2.

Thanks for the comments.
The main title "Age of Muskets" is intended to cover wide range of possible 18th/19th century themed games, when soldier fought with swords and muskets. While the Civil War saw the wide use of rifled weapons, they still had smooth bore muskets and even the rifled long arms could be called "rifled musket" - hence the title "Age of Muskets American Civil War"

We plan on focusing on challenging multiplayer combat and while the game will feature Civil War weapons, we plan on making the weapons more gameplay friendly with quicker reloading and less weapon malfuctions. The idea is to have fun and challenging team combat set in Civil War era.

Thanks

@D@rson07 - Thanks for the words of encouragement. We still have a long way go. Our current efforts have been toward
making the test Alpha, so we only have the temporary website up. The website needs a makeover, so contact me at fineas@prodigy.net
and include some samples of your work.

Thanks

Hi,

I found your contact info at moddb.com while looking for Civil War mods.

We are making an American Civil War FPS commercial game using garagegames.com Torque Shader Engine.
Ecatalogpages.com
I have worked on mods projects in the past and would like to release an independent game, by collaborating with
other like minded game developers. We currently have an early test build and are using concept models, testing gameplay. We have a lead programmer and animator, and modelers.

Checking to see if you are interested in helping make a Civil War game.

It looks like you were working on maps, if so then consider helping our project.

We are recruiting level designers/mappers, texture artist, and modeler/animators.

The goal for the Civil War game will be to attract a retail publisher to fully fund it. But as history shows, very few games get funded, even plenty of commercial games in development are canceled by publishers. I would like to collaborate with a small team of developers that are realistic about the chances of finding a publisher, and yet are still prepared and committed to making an independent game over a 6 tp 12 month period.

So realistically we are planning on self publishing this game. First trying garagegames and then other major online publisher.

Let me know what you think is possible.
You must be 18 years or older.

Thanks for your time and consideration.

check out garagegames.com for info about Torque Shader Engine.

Sincerely,
James Finn

Also work with other filmmakes on independent video projects.

It looks like you made some nice weapon models with great textures.
We could use a skilled 2d artist to help with our new CW FPS game.
