Unreal's standard networking. It is fine for projects like this.
I'm not doing an MMO.

The PVKII version has more little-realm things, instead of just being a giants realm. Got a tavern, ship wreck, rope bridge, etc. Just making use of the assets in PVKII, but I realize looking at it now, that the theme for the little realm, using those assets, is quite cool. The contrast of the giant realm having modern (80s) stuff, while the little realm has dark ages & pirate stuff, so I think for the Unreal version, I'm going to keep that contrast, cause its cool.
I'm presently learning C++. I have to be able to program in order to continue this project.
His Noodliness, surely has brought us together, yarr harr, Ramen!
Not a bad idea, I like it :)
Because you're special to me. <3
Where's the gold?
Thank you both for your kind remarks.
I'm asking a question on our social media:
Which feature(s) in Pirates are you most excited to see developed?
No, that would be pointless, and they are different games.
The design document is publicly available for the last 5 years. Miriscus.com
You can read up on exactly what is planned.
Truthfully I'm really sick of Source engine.
I was considering continuing this map in the new Unreal Tournament, Unreal 4 engine. Making things run and still look good in Source is 10x more work.
No problem. Enjoy the latest updates to the media gallery ;)
I'm paying developers with my own money.
It's far from cancelled. Refer to the article I posted.
It depends on how much of the GDD makes it into the final build (which hopefully is everything) and also on release type. With release type: If a build is the low-spec art on Android, that would be sold cheaper than the PC version with high spec. That's why I provided $15-30 previously.
I didn't release it yet. I had plans to, but became too busy with greater priorities and then forgot entirely. I'll release it as soon as I can. For now try the CSS 5.3.3 version to make sure it runs fine for you, cause that is basically what NMRIH will be using.
I've actually never seen it before, but I'll have a look :)
Bringing to life a game that I personally want is pretty strong motivation; As a picky gamer, I don't want to wait around for people to create my ideas when I can just make them here and now. Also the possibility it can be successful and become a career as well; everyone wants to do something they enjoy. As an artist, I'd rather be creating things and sharing them for a living than stacking shelves.
It is absolutely tough work that tests my tolerance and patience. We haven't done any fund-raising at all yet, so I've had to keep a project going on volunteer labour; which is also hard to find and replace. My determination and optimism is too strong to be defeated by any amount of issues. Once we get our funding though, It will definitely be much easier to keep things running smoothly.
