... This was inspired by Thief 1, wasn't it? I wasn't sure at first -- the abandoned, zombie-infested town is just as likely to be inspired by Ravenholm or They Hunger -- but then I got to the chapter titled "The Bonehoard" and now I'm convinced.

You should give credit to Neil Manke for the original. After all, he did make what was probably the most famous Half-Life 1 single-player mod before Cry of Fear came out; it's a crying shame he fell ill before Lost Souls could be finished.
During the helicopter fight, one of the buildings with a blown-out wall has a single large error message just hanging there like some kind of weird ugly ghost. It doesn't break the game any, but it is kind of immersion-breaking.
Does this fix the weird hanging error message around one of the helicopter fights?
End of fall my ***. It's still 80 outside here during the day.
Am I the only one who thinks this whole shitstorm has nothing over the argument over Final Doom? It's been 20 years and some people are STILL butthurt.
You know what the sad irony of all this silly drama is?
As excited as I am for the mod to come out, I probably won't even play it until next year, because I'm doing an entire series playthrough and I have to wait for Mankind Divided.
You just nailed why I stopped coming to moddb regularly.
That's how I feel, yeah. Also much more use of blue.
This is why I don't post on moddb anymore: entitled manchildren (and actual children) ******** everything up.
I've been waiting on DXR for a very long time. I can wait a little longer -- lord knows I've got a zillion other games to play! Keep up the good work.
Game was somewhat crashy for me but otherwise functioned fine. Had a lot of fun spotting how many textures and architecture you lifted from Stalker :P
Kinda wish you hadn't ended the game with a sequel hook, though :/
I actually am okay with you guys being a bit slow to actually release. I plan to wait until Mankind Divided is out and then I'm going through all the games at once because I am a nerd.
I just wish MD would actually have a release date too...
Good luck not getting a C&D letter.
If you're going to remake Doom 1 and 2, the least you could do is actually make them look like something. Especially the very abstract and ugly Sandy Peterson maps.
Why not do that, rather than just a straight remake -- which I don't see the point of, because I've GOT Doom 1 and 2?
Took that Ocean Lab = SS2 thing to its logical conclusion, did you? I'm liking the look.
Great work. I'm a little disappointed in the delay (it screws up my gaming plans) but whatever, as long as it's awesome when it does come out. <3
This and DXHR director's cut comes out next week? I smell a replay soon.
So in other words, you're leaving the base mechanics as-is, and if someone else comes up with a mod that makes silenced kills meaningful, that would be compatible with this mod? Do I have that right?
(buried)
I remember getting this game when it was new and I hated it. Started playing it again this week and it's actually worse. The graphics are bad, the voice acting is bad, the story is bad, the gunplay is bad, the AI is bad, the level design is bad, the enemy design is bad, the loading times are bad -- yes, 9 years on! -- and everything else about this game is just bad.
I'm compelled to push through it just to say I did, but thank Christ FC2 and 3 aren't story sequels.
This "Jane_Denton" person is about as original as a Pink Floyd cover band.
I'm sold just on the Team Psykskallar connection. Tracking.
I'm so glad in the wake of the Silent Hill franchise ******** the bed with the lights on (IMO SH is a trilogy) that a generation of creative modders have picked up the stylistic slack.
This hardly even looks like the same game. It looks like a graphically-simpler version of DXHR. You do excellent work.
I donated the other day! Afraid of Monsters has been my new standard for scary for a while now, and it's only fair that I support these guys.
****, you're almost done? Time to reinstall AvPCR then.
Every time I come here I am amazed at what you guys do with the HL1 engine. Mindblowing. Can't wait for the release.
i just **** my SHIRT
I pick #1. It's more in keeping with the official posters, and the leaves and whatnot are kinda creepy.
This looks STUNNING! I'm definitely watching this. I'm a big fan of AvP2 and while AvP1 was fun, it's definitely not aged well. This would give it the update it sorely needed.
Napalm is more broken and less playable.

I'm just another fan who regularly keeps abreast of about 5 different mods and has some interest in 40 more. I also hate 90% of the people on this site. There's a 1 in 10 chance that doesn't include you. Trust me, those are good odds. I'd tell you about my ambitions to be a games journalist but frankly most of you are too busy calling me a gay queer fag from Fagstakistan to pay attention, so why bother? That's right, I know why you're here. You're here to post some sort of flaming comment in my profile 'cuz I dared to disagree with you. Well go ahead. Do it. I dare you.
